Nothing obvious in the SpectraView menu items. Quote from: Brad Smith on July 07, 2012, 12:10:54 pm 1) I wouldn't know where to look for the crash log. I guess I will have to keep looking for a solution. I was hoping that a i1Display Pro puck, together with the i1 Profiler software on my laptop would solve all my problems, but alas-apparently no such luck. I would like to use my laptop (i7, 8 cores, 16 GB ram) with the NEC display for LR4, but Spectraview (DDC_CI) isn't supported through the available ports as discussed in the link given in my previous post. ![]() My desktop (core 2 duo) has DDC_CI link through the dual link DVI cable and I can use SpectraView, but the desktop suffers from very slow responses in LR4. Unfortunately, I don't have the DDC_CI link accessible via my laptop, which is my best computer. Nothing obvious in the SpectraView menu items.Ģ) I assume you meant the i1 Display Pro is supported by SpectraView? I didn't think to check before, but I see now on the SpectraView web site that the i1 Display Pro color sensor is supported.ģ) & 4) I was afraid of that, and yes, the DDC_CI bit is is mixed bag-fine when it works, but a show stopper for SpectraView when it doesn't or isn't accessible. You’ll also learn how to replicate this Virtual LUT workflow in LightSpace.1) I wouldn't know where to look for the crash log. You’ll learn what this Virtual LUT does for us (and its limitations). In the next Insight, we’ll finish up the Color Checker workflow by creating a Virtual LUT. Coming Up Next: Finishing up with CalMAN Color Checker and LightSpace DPS If you rely just on the generic offsets that ship with CalMAN (or LightSpace)-then as time passes your Profiles and Calibrations will be wrong. You’ll get a sense of why custom offsets are so important. We’ll compare the readings of the aging C6 with those from a brand-new i1 Display Pro. i1Display Pro Enjoy virtually infinite control SKU : EODIS3 PRODUCT DISCONTINUED The i1Display Pro is the ultimate choice for discerning photographers, designers, and imaging professionals looking for the highest level of on-screen color accuracy for displays, laptops, and projectors. I happen to own a C6 that is three years old. But really, all we need to do is generate yearly Offsets and your colorimeter should be good to use for several years.Īfter optimizing CalMAN for the i1 Display and C6, you’ll learn how age affects the readings of a colorimeter And when an i1 Display Pro or SpectraCAL C6 is no longer NIST-Compliant due to the aging of its filters-there’s no way to update the components to bring the device back into compliance. Note: NIST Certification isn’t necessary for most of us watching this Insight. It’s a convenient feature to help you remember to send the unit back for re-certification. This Certificate is loaded on each individual C6 and provides an expiration date. On-Board NIST Certification – When you buy a C6 from SpectraCal, one thing they provide is a NIST Certificate of Performance (here’s a good explanation of what these NIST Certifications mean).According to SpectraCal – these optimizations also increase the speed of low-light readings, decreasing the length of a full calibration by up to 30%. Whereas I’ve NEVER gotten the i1 Display Pro to read zero black on an OLED in either CalMAN or LightSpace. As you’ll see in this Insight, I’m able to get the C6 to properly read an OLED at zero black. It improves and optimizes the i1 Display’s accuracy reading dark patches. Always use and store the device between 10° C to 35° C at 20 to 80 relative humidity (non-condensing). NOTE Never use water, solvents, or detergents to clean the lens or body of the device, as these may cause damage or deformation. Optimized Low-Light Handling – SpectraCal adds additional software directly onto the C6 colorimeter. If necessary, wipe the lens gently with a soft lint-free cloth. ![]() Specifically, the C6 has the following functions (which are not included with the i1 Display Pro): ![]() The SpectraCal C6 is a custom modified version of X-Rite’s i1 Display Pro OEMīoth meters are identical, except that SpectraCal licensed from X-Rite the ability to add custom code that improves aspects of the i1 Display’s functionality. We’re also looking at the SpectraCal branded version of that same colorimeter, the C6. ![]() In this Insight, we’re learning the various settings and options you’ll enable when optimizing for CalMAN the affordable i1 Display Pro OEM.
